Welcome to my space.

Thank you for your interest in my work.

I paint and draw subjects that currently move me. The world is incredibly diverse, so the themes of my paintings are not limited.
For many years, I have lived surrounded by wild nature. Naturally, nature serves as the main inspiration for my paintings. I also paint people in various situations.

I approach the depicted reality with varying degrees of realism. It is always a story—not an exact reproduction, but a metaphor that sometimes borders on abstraction.

When painting the human figure, I enjoy portraying it realistically. The expression on a face matters. A millimeter to the left or right can change a face from sad to joyful. Therefore, painting requires immersing oneself in mindfulness. Refining details is, for me, a form of meditation.

After such meticulous work, I often feel like switching things up. That’s when I create paintings using hectoliters of paint and turpentine, literally pouring them onto the canvas.

The motto of my work and life consists of two phrases—and they are not quotes from great philosophers.
The first is a message on a cotton rug I bought at Castorama: “Love what you love, love what you do.”
The second, overheard somewhere: “It’s better to burn out than to fade away.”

I warmly invite you to explore my works. I encourage personal contact and purchases.

Best regards,
Agnieszka Kruk

Born: July 13, 1970, in Białystok

1996
Graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, Faculty of Graphics, specializing in Poster Art.

1996–2008
Worked in graphic design, specializing in corporate visual identities

2008
Moved from Warsaw to the Masuria region, where I have been creating paintings ever since.

2008–2020
Living in close proximity to nature resulted in the creation of numerous paintings. Collaborated with interior designers by painting custom pieces tailored to specific spaces. Created commissioned portraits. Lived by the positivist idea of “grassroots work,” leading an almost hermit-like life. Focused on simple tasks at home and in the garden, practicing permaculture and exploring a life as independent of systems as possible—far removed from the superficial glitter of society.
During this period, I was deeply engaged in reading and music.
In 2011, my daughter was born, and from then on, it has been just the two of us. I balance my work with raising her.

2019–2021
My passion for traditional, northeastern Poland wooden architecture, combined with an interest in interior design and DIY projects, led me and a friend to establish a Feminist Construction Group “Cleavage”. 😉
Heavy work with wood, concrete, and metal became part of my daily life. Tools like grinders, cement mixers, and welding machines were my companions.
In “Cleavage” we created furniture from reclaimed and old wood. I also designed rustic interiors.

2021–2023
“SIELANA – Creative Workhouse”: I ran an “artistic agritourism” project.

2022–Present
Working full-time as a painter and illustrator.
